Amethyst Remembered

How your talent and wit still shines in my memories.

A consumate professional and gracious lady.

Your spirit lives on still..... Thank you Belles for the legacy of perfection in performance and keeping the flame burning brightly.

I misses you deary....
  • I miss you everyday, my Sister and Best Friend! I am so much better for you having been in my life! Has it really been three years? Everytime the phone rings I still expect to hear: "Hey, Cherie, it's Am."

Your Spirit DOES live on.....in my heart, and in my baby girl, Alice Ametyhst Coles (ahem, concieved on your birthday, no less!)

    I love you, my Sister!
  • Wow, has it really been so? I remember the first time I watched her on stage with the Courtesans. There she stood, a beautiful woman and when her mouth opened...when her mouth opened, the voice of heaven flowed. I only wished I had gotten a chance to know her more than just a wave hello every weekend. She is still dearly missed.
    • Same here. I am a member of the Crier's guild at Nor. Cal faire. First song I heard her sing was.....

      Black Velvet Band

Vision and voice will forever be in my heart and head. I too wish I had gotten to know her better. The faire lost a woderful part of its group when she left us. Her spirit lives on in the spirit of the faire. Life, Joy and forever the Revelry.
  • When I first came to the Faire as a participant - I only knew a couple of people and still felt like a bit of an outsider. But there were always those times when I would go by Rogue's Reef and see the Courtesans (aka The Soiled Doves - when stripped down to their skivvies) take the stage & fill the air with their magic.

Later on, I would get to finally meet the rest of the gals ... and Amethyst was always there with such wonderful spirit & such an open heart that one couldn't help but fall in love with her.

We were never exactly CLOSE friends ... but we would recognize each other in passing and had lots of mutual friends. I would see her in later years as a member of the Belles or a member of the Italian Court (or maybe she was just a very loud Italian Belle - *laughing*)

Her passing really knocked me for a loop when I first heard about it ... I literally felt like I'd lost a family member.

I still watch the Belles DVD from time to time & remember her fondly.
